Ouch! This is what I heard from a friend. But he is sharp and tells me how it is…so I respect his opinion. And he is right! Why should anyone listen to another voice telling them
- “leaders say “we” instead of “I””
- “Leaders lead by example”
- “Your people are your greatest asset”
Frankly there are already plenty of memes out there.
Instead, I want to bring up real-world cases, situations, feedback that I get (case in point this post) and more. I will, of course, obfuscate the important details, but if you send over a situation you’d like to discuss – let’s have at it.
This is a nice model that I picked up while at the Kellogg School of Management – in the Kellogg Entrepreneurship Organization. It was an application/invite only club of business owners and was modeled after the YPO. For three hours a month we sat in a closed, NDA-bound room and openly talked through real business problems. The advice that I got there was invaluable.
So let’s see how this goes and I hope this doesn’t become just another “business blog”
